Using the figures

Every figure published on Kwick365 is free to quote, republish, chart and build on, for any purpose including a commercial one, with a link to the page it came from. No permission, licence fee, account or API key is needed, and nothing has to be asked first.

Two requests, not conditions: carry the date and the sample size with the number — every page prints both, because a figure without them is not reproducible — and describe the sample honestly as independent restaurants running KwickPOS rather than as American restaurants.

The JSON API

open, unauthenticated, and returns published cells only — a withheld figure is absent from the response rather than nulled or zeroed. Please be reasonable with it: it is one small server, it is not rate-limited by anything but its own capacity, and a caller that knocks the site over will be blocked

The embeddable charts

free to iframe on any site. They carry their own attribution and link back; please leave it on

Scraping

there is no reason to: everything the pages show is in the API, which is cheaper for you and for us. There are no limits on the pages beyond the ones on the API — the same request to be reasonable applies

Name and marks

“Kwick365” and “KwickPOS” may be used to say where a figure came from. They may not be used to suggest that Kwick365 or KwickPOS endorses, produced or checked your work

What these numbers are not

They are benchmarks, not forecasts. Every figure describes a day that has already happened, measured the same way as every other day. Nothing here is projected, modelled forward, seasonally adjusted or presented as an indicator of what comes next, and no figure should be read as one.

They are not financial, investment, tax, legal or business advice. They are aggregate operating statistics published for information. Decisions taken on the strength of them are yours.

They are not a probability sample of American restaurants. The sample is the independent restaurants running one point-of-sale system, concentrated in a handful of states, with no chains in it. Its levels do not generalise to the country. The methodology says so at length, and anyone republishing a figure should say so too.

The calendar is context, not a finding. Its entries are sourced observances, deadlines and fixtures. Kwick365 makes no claim that any of them caused any movement in any reading.

No warranty

The site and its data are provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Figures are computed automatically from operational data and may contain errors; they may be revised, withheld or withdrawn without notice, and the last three days of any reading are recomputed nightly and can change.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Jinstech Corp dba KwickPOS is not liable for any loss or damage arising out of the use of this site or of anything published on it. If that limit is more than your law permits, it is reduced to whatever your law does permit and the rest of these terms stand.
