Kwick365The Independent Restaurant Index

Metro

San Francisco Bay Area, CA

Data as of — 40 independent restaurants here are in the index. Metro boundaries are approximated from each restaurant’s mailing ZIP code, so a reading covers the ZIP prefixes listed on the methodology page, not a census boundary.

This chart as text

In-store ticket over the last 30 days. 29 published observations, from September 14, 2026 at $33.38 to October 13, 2026 at $35.45. Sample: 31 restaurants, 1,703 orders on October 13, 2026.

This series is not continuous. It is drawn as 2 separate lines with 1 gap between them, and no line is drawn across a gap. The longest gap is 1 day, between September 28, 2026 and September 30, 2026. Days with too little data to publish are left out rather than filled in.

7-day average: 29 calculated points, drawn only on days the published series itself has and never across a gap. It is arithmetic on Kwick365’s published daily readings, not a measurement of its own. A point near the start of this window also averages published days from up to 6 days before the window begins. Those are published readings too, but they are neither drawn on the chart nor listed in the table below.

In-store ticket, daily through October 13, 2026, over a 30-day window. The scale covers the range of the data, not zero. Days with too little data to publish are left out. The 7-day average is calculated by Kwick365 from the published daily readings, not measured separately: each point is the mean of the days that published within the 7 calendar days ending on it. It is not drawn at all where fewer than 5 of those 7 days published, so it breaks wherever the daily line breaks and never averages across a gap.

Price indexes here

A price index needs 30 matching menu items from 15 restaurants in the same place on the same day, so most dishes publish nationally long before they publish locally. Nothing is estimated for the ones that have not.
